I have baked and ate Chocolate Chips cookies for as long as I can remember. I really wanted something different. So as usual, I tried something new and decided to add cream cheese to the recipe. I am so glad I did. They came out chewy and crunchy at the same time.
Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoon corn starch
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How to prepare
- Preheat oven 350 degrees.
- In a medium bowl combine the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Add sugars, egg, vanilla and mix on medium-high speed until creamy and fluffy.
- In another bowl combine the flour, corn starch, baking soda, salt and stir with a spoon until ingredients are incorporated.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of dry ingredients at a time into the wet mixture. Repeat this process until all dry ingredients are used.
- Fold in by hand the chocolate chips and pecans.
- Place on a cookie sheet, 2 tablespoon cookie dough, spacing about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8 to 9 minutes or until golden brown.
- Set on cookie rack to cool.
- Store in a airtight container.
Enjoy!
